My Ganymede sculpture is finally finished :psychotic: I can't believe I let it go 95% done for so long. Anyway, this was my first bout with Sculpey and hopefully not the last. I had a great time with this, and thanks to *Zhentee for her inspiration to sculpt :)

He's going on my desk at work :XD:

I've thought about it, but it took me so long and was so much tedious work, I don't think I could bring myself to it :XD:

I love the details you put into this! It's cool seeing the WIPs on the side- my favorite shot id the bottom right-hand corner- it looks so dramatic! I wish I had your patience and skill <3 I would club 100 baby seals to be able to make something like this!

Nice, love the wings! Wings give me a whole heck of a lot of trouble when I tried them with sculpey. Yours look wonderful! How did you do the feathers if you don't mind my asking?

Thank you! Gah, the wings were the most time-consuming and painstaking part. I made each layer separately, starting with a piece of sculpey I made thin and shaped vaguely like a wing. I then used an exacto knife to cut out each feather. Then I used my fingers to smooth out and round each feather. @_@ That was 10 sets in all, including the primaries and front-and-back versions of the secondaries and tertials for each wing. I'm pretty happy with it though despite the work! :XD:

Wow, he looks wonderful! Did you sculpt every feather on his wings, or did you carve them out?

I made a thin layer of sculpey and used an exacto knife to cut out the feathers, then used my fingers to smooth and round each feather. So...a mixture of both I guess. :D I had to do 10 layers like that, yikes. Thank you!

Aw, thank you very much! :D Hmm...my main tip is to turn on the TV or some music so you don't get too bored on the tedious parts :XD: Also have a variety of things to scuplt with, like an exacto knife and toothpicks, as well as your hands. I'm no expert though!
