Aardvark Sonic Character

I was playing some old Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis (Sonic and Knuckles, actually), and I thought "Wouldn't it be fun to design a character like you'd see in the Sonic universe?" But Hedgehogs and Echidnae are overdone. So I chose an Aardvark...

I used to read the Sonic and Knuckles comics but I haven't kept up for some years now. Good stuff. Anybody have a name suggestion for this little guy?
